I bet that everyone will know Toad if they use Oracle. Sometimes I think it is Oracle strategy not to have a user friendly tool so that we will need to pay for its support or hire a DBA

Anyway, I found that most people working on Oracle, whether they are developers or DBAs, rely heavily on Toad. I was using Toad also in some of my past projects. However, at that time I was wondering if there is any good tool similar to Toad. I found TOra.

In short, TOra is similiar to Toad but it is open source. I normally use it on Linux, but it claims to be able to run on Linux, Windows and Solaris.

I would encourage you to try it out. It is a good alternative to Toad for Oracle !
